Description :

The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II is a real time strategy computer game published by Electronic Arts, based upon the fantasy novel The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien and its live-action film trilogy adaptation, directed by Peter Jackson and released by New Line Cinema. It is the sequel to The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth, from the same company.
The gameplay in a skirmish remains largely the same as that of the first game: a player builds up a base with structures for production, resources, upgrades, and defense; the player also keeps producing various types of units; the player then attacks the enemy and defends against enemy attacks, using any units, structures, and special powers available; when one destroys all of enemy units and structures, the player wins.
The most important new feature is the 'build everywhere' style. Players no longer have to build on predetermined points or 'building plots' inside the base; they start with builder units. One can build an unlimited number of structures anywhere across the map (as long as they can be afforded and no obstacles are present). This allows more freedom in base building and faster troop production.
